Applying to college is an
exciting time in a student’s life
for self-discovery.

We work as a team, set goals
and turn dreams into a reality.

The college counseling process is an exciting time in a student’s life for self-discovery. This is a time for a student to decide what will be of importance for a successful college experience. By focusing on the student’s interests and goals, a customized plan of action is implemented to create a college list, establish life skills, highlight their applications and manage important deadlines.

Students will learn about a variety of options for colleges including research universities, liberal arts schools and schools with specialized programs. The goal is to identify and gain admission to the best fit school where the student will receive  an optimal education and thrive academically, socially and personally.

Our approach is to get to know students an highlight their unique strengths, talents, achievements and needs. We accomplish this by imparting the latest knowledge, tools and insights to help the family make appropriate and well informed decisions, as well as to alleviate some of the stress associated with this process.

We are skilled at working with students to recognize
their strengths and emphasize their positive traits with a focus on helping them identify and apply to the best matched schools.

About Kathy Ratajczak

It is Kathy’s passion for education that has led to her career as a college counselor.  After earning her Master’s in Education from Pepperdine University, Kathy taught for more than ten years in the Las Virgenes School District and privately.  In 2007, Kathy began volunteering in the Calabasas High School Counseling Office and became intrigued with the college admissions process.  It was during this time that Kathy began assisting her son and friends with high school students navigate the college application process.  From 2011 to 2014, Kathy was a partner at Admission Essentials, LLC before launching her own company.  Since 2012, Kathy has worked at a private high school in the San Fernando Valley as an instructor with their Summer Essay Boot Camp.  Kathy’s ability to connect with students coupled with her vast knowledge of college choices and mastering the college admissions process has helped ease anxiety in today’s competitive college admissions environment.

Kathy earned her certification in college counseling through UCLA.  She is a member of the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the Western Association of College Admission Counseling (WACAC).

Prior to her professional pursuits in education, Kathy worked for more than a decade in the entertainment industry primarily at Warner Bros.
